Grenham House School

Founded in 1901, Grenham House was a Preparatory School for boys, which closed in 1984 when the land was sold off to developers.

The School is famous as the former school of Earl Spencer, the sister of Princess Diana, and in particular featured in his book published in 2024. I talk about the book, and my own experiences of boarding school in this news article.

Northampton Police are allegedly conducting an investigation into abuse alleged by not only Earl Spence, but also the author and journalist Louis de Bernieres who has described his abuse in the broadsheets. His article in the Independent “describes ‘hellish’ prep school ordeal”

Other famous pupils are the broadcaster John Suchet, whose Daily Mail article describes a ordeal of bullying and cruelty. His brother, the former Poirot actor David Suchet also attended.
